I am 'possibly' Your most avid fan, at least among those who are poor, live in a garage, with 40 cats, whose house burned last year, killing their Father through smoke inhalation and severe burns in the hospital one week later. I am eagerly awaiting the public release of 0.7 and was wondering if You could possibly create a torrent download for the game. My internet consists of the mobile hotspot on a flip phone whose premium data is extremely limited each month 5GB, and the megaupload etc forms of downloading are insanely undependable for Me. Often resulting in hours of lost time due to failed downloads. Torrents are the most reliable form of download in my opinion, so I just wanted to ask if You could possibly add a torrent method of downloading compatible with qbittorrent. I am a big Caribdis fan myself, and have thought about doing AVNs myself, just not sure what software I would need to do it. I truly think I could do something worthwhile, but just not sure how to get started really. If you have any advice or suggestions please let me know Horn nii! I am at the beginning of your game Horn nii, first time in classroom part, and it does seem promising. Definitely has some Caribdis vibes but also unique as well. I played this game many months ago, early this year, and it is one of my three favorite adult visual novels ever made. Once in a lifetime, Eternum, both by Caribdis, and Everlasting Summer, the first visual novel I ever played through. Caribdis is an absolute mastermind at this, Their stories combine mystery, comedy, action, and sexuality in such a flawless fashion as to be absolutely awe inspiring. In fact no amount of praise can ever fully describe just how amazing Caribdis IS at producing adult visual novels. I wanted to download and play Once In A Lifetime again, just having finished Eternum thus far a few days ago, but am unable to because my internet is very bad and sometimes unstable. Trying to download without some kind of download manager usually results in 'network failure' errors, and am unable to resume after that. I have the app for this website but OIAL is apparently to large to host on here. I was wanting to ask Caribdis if OIAL is available to download by bittorrent anywhere. Anyhow again thank you Caribdis for the outstanding and as I said before indescribably wonderful work you have done on OIAL and Eternum. And I hope you keep making more AVNs after Eternum is finished.

2 problems with this game. First makes it unplayable, and the second is just something that could have made it better I think. First problem is the quick time events/actions. It uses 'w' 'a' 's' 'd' and at least some of those such as 'a' and 's' are hot keys in Ren'Py. For example 's' takes a screenshot. In my first qte/a with lorcan when I try to hit 'a' it takes me to some menu, and does not complete the qte/a. This would seem to make a game that would be very interesting 'unplayable'. I have looked online for a solution to this but have not found it.
The second problem is just that so far the one partial sex scene was not animated, just a series of stills. This is unfortunate, but not earth shattering. However the first problem would seem to make playing the game useless unless you resigned yourself to failing EVERY quick time event/action.
I was able to go into the file Esteria/renpy/common/00keymap.rpy and remove part of this line accessibility = [ "K_a" ], I just removed the K_a from this and it no longer goes to the menu it did before. From THIS line screenshot = [ '', 'alt_K_s', 'alt_shift_K_s', 'noshift_K_s' ], I was able to disable screenshots by removing just the noshift_K_s from it.
'w' and 'd' do not seem to be causing problems. Hard to believe someone would go to all the trouble of making a game like this without preventing this kind of a problem. It IS a good game in spite of all that, and it is not my intention to drag the creator through the mud. But as for the QTE issue, YOUR WELCOME. l)J
Played through this game in 2 days. Now that it is over I feel like a part of me died. Possibly the part of me I liked the most. I guess that is a danger with games like this. The last time I felt this way was years ago when I finished playing Everlasting Summer. The first visual novel game I ever played. The sense of loss is far greater at the end of this game however than it ever was with E.S. Please do not let my words of sadness mislead you though, Once In A Lifetime is by far the best experience I have ever had, with ANY game OR TV show. My only sadness is that it is over. It makes me think of that invention I imagined years ago to erase targeted memories so that people could experience their favorite books, games, movies, or tv shows all over again for the first time. I understand that such a invention would inevitably be misused so it can never be, BUT if it did exist, I would use it and replay this game over and over, and again and again. This game is simply amazing. I found myself rushing past the sex scenes just to continue on with the story itself. Not that I didnt love the sex scenes, without them the game would not be what it is. To the author, I do not know if I should thank you for this magnificent experience, or curse you because it finally came to an end, but since all is darkness and void without life, I thank you for letting us all live this life even if only for a short time. This game is a work of art, in my opinion no less worthy of admiration than the work of Da Vinci, Mozart, or Shakespeare. Again I thank you. l)J
